Who should get a boudoir shoot?
The answer is simple...EVERY woman! Boudoir sessions are just not for one type of woman, they are stay at home moms, doctors, lawyers, teachers, models, makeup artists, hair stylists, servers, bartenders, accountants, editors, nurses, receptionists and the list goes on and on. The most common reason to get a boudoir shoot is to give as a gift for a significant other but that's not the only reason. Boudoir photography can help celebrate something special in a woman's life such as a milestone birthday, weight loss, a divorce or break-up, to help boost their confidence or to just capture that "moment in time" to look back as they get older and say "Wow, look at me!"
But I don't look like a model, should I still book a boudoir shoot?
YES of course!! We have photographed women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and race. Every woman is beautiful in their own way and we help bring that out of you. Your significant other loves you for who you are, don't change and make yourself something that you are not. If you are doing your shoot for yourself, you know that beauty is inside you but need a little help coaxing it out. Having a makeover with our professional hair and makeup artists brings that inner sexy out of you. This is why we HIGHLY recommend adding hair and makeup to your package. What woman doesn't love to be pampered!
Oh! Just make sure you have plans for a night out on the town with your girlfriends after your shoot because you are going to be looking amazing and you'll want to show off to everyone!
I need to lose weight before I book a shoot...
NO! No you don't. This is something we hear time and time again and you know what??? They never book a shoot! Society unfortunately has portrayed "beautiful" with skinny toothpicks and it's not right. What happens is that a woman wants to lose weight and then when she gets to her goal weight she thinks she need to lose more. It's a continuous cycle that never ends. Beauty comes in every shape and size and is "inside" you. If you have the right attitude it doesn't matter if you are tall, short, curvy, skinny, big busted or small busted, you ARE beautiful! Booking a shoot with us helps you build that confidence to know that you are beautiful no matter what. And don't forget, your significant other loves you for YOU!
But you are a guy, why should I book with you?
Ahhhh, yes, the question that always comes up, and a very good question indeed. If you are doing this for your man, would you rather have a female's perspective of the images that he might like or a male's perspective of images that he will love? A male perspective in boudoir photography brings in that extra kick of sexiness and sensuality that set's us apart from the female boudoir photographers out there. Most often, a male and female's version of "hot and sexy" are different. When getting to know our clients we asked them why they chose us, especially concerning the gender difference. The overall response from them was that they knew it was going to be sexier. Some had even shot with a female boudoir photographer before and said they were much happier with the final product they received from Sweet Emotion Bousoir. How much will my boudoir shoot cost?
Session fees start at $425 with customized product orders. You customize your order to what suits you.
We also understand the struggles people have with money these days, so for your product purchase, you are able to setup a payment plan with us (no credit checks, no service charges and no interest) for your order. This is treated like a layaway plan, once your order is paid in full, then it goes into the queue to be processed.
All sales are final and non-refundable on your session and orders.

When should I book my boudoir shoot?
Truthfully, the sooner the better. Typical final product turn around time is about 6 - 8 weeks from the time you have paid in full to you getting the finished product so booking at least 6 weeks in advance of your special event is best especially if you are looking to have your shoot on a weekend, those get booked first.
How do I book my boudoir shoot?
That's easy...just contact us by email or phone (914-433-1039). In order to lock the date and time for your shoot we require a 50% non-refundable reservation fee.
How should I prepare for my boudoir shoot?
Once your shoot is booked, you will receive a Welcome guide explaining how to get ready for your big day! But to give you a quick teaser...make sure you drink plenty of water days before the shoot, moisturize moisturize moisturize, get a mani and pedi, look into teeth whitening, AVOID any kind of tanning whatsoever, and most importantly get a few nights of really good sleep! On the day of the shoot, do not starve yourself and wear loose fitting clothing to avoid impressions on your skin.
What should I bring to wear for my boudoir shoot?
The main article of clothing for boudoir photography is lingerie. Sooooo bring your sexiest lingerie (of course!), heels (a MUST), a favorite shirt or sport's jersey of your significant other's, jewelry and accessories, your favorite scent (helps you feel even sexier), and normal clothing that can be turned into sexy (jeans and a bra only, low cut dress, etc...). If we can make it sexy then anything is fair game!
How much clothing should I bring for my boudoir shoot?
Your whole lingerie drawer! Just kidding (or am I)? The more you bring the better. The reason for this is that an outfit that you think looks great, might not photograph well and it's better to have more variety to fall back on instead of getting stuck with something that isn't flattering in pictures. Once you arrive at the studio on your day of the shoot we will set everything out and then decide which outfits would be best to shoot in. Soooo, what a perfect reason to go shopping!
Is professional hair and makeup included in my boudoir shoot?
Yes!! Professional hair and makeup services are included with every session.
Should I tan before my boudoir shoot?
NO! NO! NO! Did I happen to mention NO!!! If you are one that uses a tanning bed or gets spray tans reguarly, it is recommended to stop at least a week before you shoot to avoid unnatural skin tones and a dry leathery appearance to skin (remember moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!) Also, the last thing we want is you looking like an Oompa Loompa because the spray tan went wrong and you are a bad shade of orange. The "natural" you is what we are looking for and many times is sexier to look at.
I'm looking forward to my shoot but I'm nervous!
You are not alone. Being nervous is completely natural and expected. We walk you through every step of the shoot from selecting your outfits to helping you pose. You only have one job during the shoot and that is to let us do all of the work! One of the things I get complimented on regularly is how quickly I am able to get a client comfortable. The biggest thing to remember is to just relax and have fun. If you are having fun, it will show in the images.
How long should I expect to be at the studio?
The total time you should expect to be at your shoot is around 4 hours. Hair and makeup will take an hour to an hour and a half, while shoot time is approximately two hours.
When will I see my images?
Within two weeks you will be sent a password protected proofing link for you to review and select your images. You will then have seven days to make your selections and get your order in. The link is live for seven days from the time it's sent. Any additional time over the seven days will be charged an additional fee outlined in the Terms and Conditions.
Will my images be edited?
Minimal adjustments will be done to your images (color correction and exposure) for your proofing link. All of the images you choose, whether it be a part of your package or for an album, are edited for blemish removal, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and cellulite and skin softening (don't worry we won't make you look like a barbie doll). We will NOT do body modifications (i.e can you make my arms, waist, legs, etc look thinner...). You are beautiful just the way you are and there is no need to try and change that.
I want something physical to give as a present. What products are available?
Giving something tangible is always the best kind of gift! In addition to our digital images, we offer handcrafted lay-flat albums, a special "For His Eyes Only" high quality magazine showcasing the "10 Reasons Why I Love You", calendars, canvas gallery wraps and loose prints that go up to poster size! Sample albums will be available for you to view after your shoot. There are many unique products available from our labs, so if you have an idea for a product that isn't listed let us know and we can see if we can make it happen!
How long will it take to receive my order?
If you purchased an album, magazine, calendar or prints it's about six to eight (6-8) weeks from the time we have received full payment for your products. With this in mind, if you need your album or digital images by a certain date, please schedule your session accordingly to avoid rush charges.
Do you offer boudoir parties?
Yes we do! Boudoir parties for a Bachlorette Party or a "Girls Day or Night Out" has become the latest trend and has been talked about in newspapers and television. Grab a few of your friends and get pampered by our professional hair and makeup artists, sip some bubbly, nosh on cheese and crackers or chocolate covered strawberries and have the time of your life! This is a truly unique event to bond with your bff's even more!
Do you offer payment plans?
If you purchase your session more than two weeks before the session date you are able to secure your spot with a 50% non-refundable reservation fee. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your shoot. We do not offer a payment plan for the session fee other than the reservation fee.
For product orders, we offer in-house financing. Automatic payments from your debit or credit card will be taken monthly until the order is paid for. Once the order is paid in full then your order will be submitted for editing and processing. Think of it as a layaway plan.
Can I bring someone with me to my shoot?
Yes you can, as long as they are female. Having your best friend or even your mom (yes we have had a few mom's attend shoots) at your session might help you feel more relaxed and they can even help out. Men (except me, of course) are not allowed in the studio during the shoot. More often then none they actually ruin the whole experience for you (I have seen it happen many times). If you bring your husband or boyfriend they will be asked to wait in the lobby until the shoot is over. The ONLY exception to this is if you book a "Sexy Couples" shoot.
Do you put my pictures on your website or out there in internet land?
In the client questionnaire that you receive after booking your shoot, there is a question asking if we can use your images for promotional purposes only. We know how private a boudoir experience can be so any picture that we use for promotional purposes (website, albums, brochures, social media) we get exclusive written permission from that client. This is also detailed in the Terms and Conditions. If you grant us that permission, wonderful! If not, no problem, we respect your decision.
What is your rescheduling/cancellation policy?
In order to reschedule your session, you must provide written notice within 72 hours (3 days) of your shoot otherwise you forfeit your non-refundable reservation fee that you made when booking your shoot. To reschedule your session less than 72 hours from your shoot a portion, as outlined in the Terms and Conditions, of the original reservation fee will need be required. The rescheduled shoot must be within sixty (60) days of the original shoot. If you reschedule a second time, you forfeit the reservation fee and a new contract subject to our current rates will be drawn up, requiring payment of a new non-refundable reservation fee. If you decide to cancel the session outright you forfeit your reservation fee, no exceptions.
